The pharmaceutical industry is undergoing a profound transformation: Artificial Intelligence is marking a decisive shift from the past, becoming a strategic driver that is redefining processes across the entire drug lifecycle – from preclinical research to quality management and regulatory compliance.
It is within this context that the 65th AFI Symposium will be held from June 10 to 12, 2026, at the Palacongressi in Rimini, under the theme “The Healthcare Industry in the Age of Artificial Intelligence.” The event will include 14 Scientific Sessions and several side events, featuring prominent speakers from industry, academia, institutions, and professional associations.
Bluenext will once again take part in this important event, sharing its perspective as a company that works every day to transform technological innovation into practical solutions for Life Sciences organizations.

Bluenext Digital Workshop: a preview of the Symposium
Ahead of the Rimini event, on May 26 Bluenext will host a free Digital Workshop as part of the AFI Symposium, entirely focused on integrating AI into regulated processes in the Life Sciences sector.
The workshop is titled “Artificial Intelligence and Data Integrity: hybrid strategies for digitalization and adoption in Batch Records, Quality Processes, and Instrument Integration“.
In light of the draft of the new Annex 22 of the EU GMP guidelines, Artificial Intelligence is increasingly being recognized as a tool to support human decision-making, keeping people at the center of processes while ensuring transparency, security, and data confidentiality.
During the workshop, we will show how Bluenext solutions for the Life Sciences sector incorporate advanced AI algorithms through a “Privacy First” and “Human-in-the-Loop” approach, fully aligned with Data Integrity requirements and applicable regulations.
Through real-world use cases, we will explore practical AI applications to enhance operational efficiency and regulatory compliance in the pharmaceutical sector, and support Life Sciences organizations in the digital transformation of regulated processes, including:
- Batch Records: from managing paper-based documentation through automated capture and AI-powered metadata extraction, to fully digital processes enabled by Electronic Batch Records, ensuring greater control and more reliable data.
- Virtual assistant for quality: an evolution of the Document Management System featuring an AI chatbot that can query SOPs and technical documents in natural language, reducing search times and improving information accessibility.
- Visual integration of instruments: innovative solutions to capture and structure data even from instruments without digital outputs, ensuring data flows that are complete, traceable, and audit-ready.
